Marge Miller

Margaret Ann Miller, 83, of Manhattan, Kansas, formerly of St. George, died Friday, December 23, 2022, at the Stoneybrook Retirement Center in Manhattan. She had been a resident of the area since 1962.
Margaret was born April 8, 1939, in Wichita, Kansas the daughter of Orian and Jewell (Iames) McGaughey. She attended local grade schools and graduated in 1957 from High School in Wellington, Kansas.


Margaret married John J. Miller on June 15, 1957, in Wellington. They were later divorced.
Margaret worked as the dispatcher and records clerk for the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office for twenty-six years. She retired in 2004. She was a charter member of the Wamego Reserve Police.
In her earlier years she bowled on a local league team, and she enjoyed crocheting. Margaret loved to attend Branson shows with her daughters and country music. And we cannot forget her beloved dog, Rowdy.

Margaret is survived by her children; Julie Snodgrass (Tim Songs), Larned, Janice Schroll (Dana), Manhattan, and James Miller (Cathy), Tonganoxie; her grandchildren, Douglas Snodgrass (Felicia), Larned, Dustin Snodgrass, (RuthAnn), Larned, Derek Snodgrass (Casie), Garfield, Duke Ridder, Wamego, Cody Ridder (Calista), Wamego, Justin Schroll, (Tahni Helms), Overland Park, Jacob Miller (Stephanie) Shawnee, and her great-grandchildren, Kaylyn, Haydyn, Addison, Madelyn, Kynzlee, Kason, Kash, Brianna, MacKayla, Colter, Gracelyn; and her sister, Emmadene Eickhorst (Charles), Richland, Missouri, and sisters-in-law, Vonelle Iames and Wylma McGaughey, both of Wellington. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, and great-grandchildren, Peyton and Jaxson Snodgrass, and her brothers, Bill Iames, Edward Stiger, and Bill McGaughey, and her son-in-law, John Snodgrass.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at Campanella and Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego. The family will greet friends prior to the service at 12:00 pm.
