Joleen Blankley

Joleen Rae Blankey 74, of Louisville, Kansas, died Saturday, January 11, 2020, at Stormont Vail Health Center in Topeka. She was a life-long resident of the area.

Joleen was born on October 1, 1945, in Manhattan, Kansas, the daughter of Carl and Martha Ringel Havenstein. She attended local schools and graduated in 1964 from Alma High School.

Joleen met the love of her life, Raymond Blankley, through her brother-in-law, and they were married on October 1, 1965 in Alma. Raymond survives at their home.

Joleen was a homemaker. She enjoyed raising her three children and caring for Raymond. She loved to fish, work crossword puzzles, gardening and canning. Joleen loved time with her grandchildren and enjoyed baking Christmas cookies with them.

Joleen is also survived by her children; Tim Blankley (Jackie), St. Petersburg, Florida, Carl Blankley, Wamego, and Diane Dawson, Wamego; her five grandchildren, Jessica McIntosh (Chris), Joshua Blankley (Misty), Trinity Counts (Jeff), Trisha Bulger (Jake), and Megan Curtis; thirteen great-grandchildren; her siblings, Shirley Roudybush, Auburn, Keith Havenstein, Kansas City, Missouri, Orwin Havenstein (LaReta), Westmoreland; and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Joleen was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Dean Dawson; and a brother, Marvin Havenstein.
